Breakfast & Lunch at No Charge Beginning Fall 2026

As families prepare for the upcoming school year, Clarkston School District would like to remind everyone that there will be no weekly early release or late start Wednesdays for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) during the 2026β2027 school year.
Students will follow their regular school schedule each week unless otherwise noted on the district calendar for conferences, holidays, emergency closures, or other special schedule changes.
We encourage families to review and save the attached 2026β2027 District Calendar for important dates throughout the school year.
We look forward to welcoming students back this fall!

I am excited and honored to introduce myself as the Interim Principal of Heights Elementary.
As I begin this new role, I want you to know how grateful I am for the opportunity to serve the students, families, staff, and community of Heights. This school has been an important part of my family's life for many years. Twelve years ago, I brought my son, Colton, here as a kindergartner, and since then, I have been involved in many aspects of the Heights community as a parent, volunteer, PTA member, and district administrator.
Because of those experiences, I have seen firsthand what makes Heights such a special place. The dedication of our staff, the support of our families, and the enthusiasm of our students create a school community where children can learn, grow, and thrive.
As we prepare for the 2026β27 school year, I look forward to building relationships with students and families, listening to your perspectives, and working together to ensure every child feels supported, valued, and successful.
My commitment is to continue the great work already happening at Heights while partnering with staff and families to provide the best possible educational experience for our students.
I am excited about the year ahead and look forward to getting to know each of you. Thank you for welcoming me into the Heights Hawks family.
Go Hawks!
Sincerely,
Rebecca Lockhart

π’ Important District Update: Future 6th Grade Transition to Lincoln Middle School
The Clarkston School District is excited to share that beginning with the 2027β28 school year, all 6th grade students will attend Lincoln Middle School as part of a true 6thβ8th grade middle school model.
This change will not affect students during the upcoming 2026β27 school year. The additional year will allow us to thoughtfully plan, prepare, and support students and families throughout the transition process.
Moving 6th grade to Lincoln Middle School will provide students with access to specialized supports, expanded academic opportunities, extracurricular activities, athletics, leadership experiences, and a learning environment specifically designed to meet the needs of early adolescents.
We understand families may have questions. Please review the attached Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document for additional information. We will continue to share updates and opportunities for engagement as planning progresses.

Parents, educators, and community members are encouraged to attend. Please help spread the word!
